The principle of operation of the heat pump is based on the transfer of heat from one place to another. The heat pump absorbs heat from outside and transfers it inside your home. Generally, it captures the outside heat up to a temperature of -15°C and now up to -30°C. From this temperature, you will have to rely on a supplementary heating system such as electric baseboard heaters. This other system will take over when it gets colder.
The central heat pump includes an outdoor unit but requires a ventilation system in the house to distribute the heat more evenly throughout the house. The purchase cost is higher than a wall-mounted heat pump, but will be more cost-effective in the end.
