As of May 1, 2024, the installation of geothermal heating systems and air-source heat pumps will no longer be eligible for Rénoclimat financial assistance.

A transitional phase is planned for participants registered in the Rénoclimat program before this date. To receive financial assistance for the installation of these systems, a post-retrofit evaluation visit must be carried out before September 30, 2024.

In addition, as of March 1, 2024, new registrants to the Novoclimat program are no longer eligible for financial assistance for the acquisition of an air-source heat pump.

This program gives you the opportunity to obtain energy evaluation services at an affordable price and substantial financial assistance for your renovation work.

What work and renovations are eligible for the Rénoclimat subsidy?

• Installation or replacement of mechanical systems (ventilation system, water heater, heat pump, heating system and geothermal system).

What is the amount paid by the Rénoclimat financial assistance program?

With the Rénoclimat subsidy, you can obtain up to $3,000 for your renovation project. However, the amount may vary depending on the type of renovation for which you have applied:

• Rénoclimat financial assistance for the installation of mechanical systems (water heater, heat pump, ventilation, etc.)

*It is also important to note that the financial assistance for the installation or replacement of an eligible heat pump will be modified.

• The financial assistance will no longer be a fixed amount.
• It varies mainly according to the winter heating capacity of the installed system.
• The higher the capacity of the heat pump, the greater the financial assistance.
• The financial assistance will be $50 for every 1,000 BTU of heating at -8°C and will replace the fixed amount of $650 currently offered.
