Tran Climatisation is proud to offer you the new “Efficient heat pumps” subsidy program available since February 2021.  This program encourages the purchase and use of a heat pump, which is an efficient electrical device for heating, cooling and dehumidifying a home. It keeps the temperature comfortable year-round while saving you money on your electric bills.

What is the Hydro-Québec Efficient Heat Pump Program?

Before you begin your work, it is important to make sure that you and your new heat pump meet the eligibility criteria. Once your eligible heat pump has been installed, you have six months to apply for financial assistance. Click here for a list of eligible heat pumps!

How much money do I get with this program?

The financial assistance provided by Hydro-Québec’s Efficient Heat Pump grant varies according to the heating capacity of the system in winter. You receive $50 per thousand BTU/h of heating capacity at -8°C. For example, for a heat pump of 10,000 BTU/h at -8°C, you will receive a grant of $500, while a heat pump of 20,000 BTU/h at -8°C will receive a grant of $1,000.

What work is financed by Hydro-Québec?

The subsidy finances the installation or replacement of a heat pump that uses renewable energy.

What are the eligibility requirements for the Efficient Heat Pump Program?

• You must be a homeowner, either an individual or a company, of residential buildings in Quebec.
• Your home must be a single-family dwelling (detached, semi-detached, row house, or mobile home), a duplex, a triplex, or a multi-unit residential building (3 storeys or with a maximum area of 600 square metres).
• The heat pump selected must be on the list of eligible heat pumps. The entire heat pump system must be new and purchased in Quebec.
• A contractor with the appropriate RBQ licenses must perform the work.
• You must provide all the information required to process the application.
• You must agree that an inspection of the work can be done at any time.
• You must not apply for other TEQ programs, such as Rénoclimat, for the same heat pump.

How can I benefit from the Hydro-Québec subsidy program?

First, consult the Participant’s Guide to ensure that you and your new system meet the program’s eligibility requirements.

Make sure you have the following supporting documents:

• Proof of ownership of the home
• Proof of purchase and installation of the unit
• Photo of the label on each indoor and outdoor unit
