However, considering the work involved, the initial cost of converting to an electric system can be daunting, and may even put a damper on your project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, we do have subsidy solutions available from the Quebec and Canadian governments to help offset some of the conversion costs.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/tranclimatisation.com\/en\/subsidies\/oil-to-heat-pump-affordability-subsidy\/\"><strong>Oil to Heat Pump Affordability Program<\/strong><\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In November 2022, the federal government launched a subsidy to support middle- and low-income households wishing to replace their oil heating system. This initiative is also linked to the Canadian Green Home Program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As an accredited contractor, Tran Climatisation offers you the possibility of obtaining the subsidy for Oil to Heat Pump Affordability Program, which can amount to up to $5,000.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Work covered by this subsidy<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Electrical and mechanical upgrades required for the new low-temperature air-source heat pump.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Safe removal of your oil tank (not done by our company).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Installation of an electric auxiliary heating system, if required.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Replacement of other oil-using domestic equipment, such as water heaters, if necessary.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Note that hybrid low-temperature air-source heat pumps (combining ducted central heat pumps with a furnace running on oil, gas or propane) are not eligible under the Affordable Oil-to-Heat Pump Affordability Program. This includes all systems using fossil fuels, with the exception of natural gas. The program offers subsidies ranging from $250 to $1275.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This assistance is available to owners of single-family homes and multi-unit residential buildings, subject to certain conditions.In addition, major changes will be introduced concerning heat pumps, affecting subsidies for their installation or replacement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Financial assistance is no longer a fixed amount.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It will vary according to the winter heating capacity of the system installed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The higher the capacity of the heat pump, the greater the financial assistance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The financial assistance is $50 for each thousand BTU of heating at -8\u00b0C, replacing the fixed amount of $650 currently offered.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Which renewable energies are eligible?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Electricity<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Geothermal<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Aerothermal (heat pump) &#8211; (Consult the list of heat pump models eligible for the program)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What work is eligible for the Chauffez Vert program?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Installation or replacement of an eligible heat pump<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Replacement of an oil- or propane-fired central heating system with one powered by an eligible renewable energy source, such as electricity<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Replacement of an oil- or propane-fired water heater with one powered by an eligible renewable energy source, such as electricity<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Converting a natural gas heating system to a dual-energy system<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What types of residences are eligible?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Single-family residences (detached, semi-detached, row house or mobile home)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Duplexes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Triplex;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Multi-unit residential building (maximum of 3 storeys and 600 m\u00b2 in area).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/tranclimatisation.com\/en\/subsidies\/hydro-quebec-subsidy-program-for-heat-pump\/\"><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/tranclimatisation.com\/en\/subsidies\/hydro-quebec-subsidy-program-for-heat-pump\/\">Efficient Heat Pumps Subsidy<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Tran Climatisation is proud to offer you the brand-new &#8220;Efficient Heat Pumps&#8221; subsidy program offered since February 2021 by Hydro-Qu\u00e9bec. This program encourages the purchase and use of heat pumps. This subsidy covers only the work surrounding your heat pump, not the removal of your oil furnace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before starting any work, it&#8217;s important to make sure that you and your new heat pump meet the eligibility criteria. Once your eligible heat pump has been installed, you have 6 months to apply for financial assistance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Amount of financial assistance<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The financial assistance provided by the subsidy varies according to the system&#8217;s winter heating capacity. You receive $50 per thousand BTU\/h of heating at -8\u00b0C.
